The story: in 1957 The young men, Gogota George during his hunting adventure in Maramures village Valea Stejarului, running to catch a wild boar, find two local young beautiful sisters, gathering plums on their orchards near forest. George, took his wife one of these beautiful sisters and seeing the sublimely taste of these plums decides to establish a small distillery in honor of this moment.
01Our Philosophy
Like a small family distillery and we have a rigorous testing process during the production. Our copper alembic still are traditional since 1957.
The desire of the master distiller is to offer a new concept of fruit distillates whose texture, color and flavors come exclusively from fruits without added sugar, distilled and patiently handcrafted, in order to obtain an exquisite taste based only of the fruit, distilling and maturing without sugar or other aromas through rigorous handmade process !
02Our Technique
Our Artisanal, Handcrafted fruits Brandy – Horinca from Apple, Plum, Quince, Strawberry or Pear is Matured for several years in finest oak casks of different origins from one to four year. and especially the superior ones Plum, Quince or Strawberry, is extra matured in the special recharred oak casks, by our master distiller unique method, in order to obtain cask flavor and texture. Blending comes with a casks strength for rich and sumptuous taste.
03Green Practices
The branches of the trees we cut we burn in the distillery and our solar panels capture green energy which transform into electric power.

The land
Horinca – Aqua Vitae, has been produced in our area Maramures, north Transylvania for over 700 years. It is the quintessence of all distillates since the Middle Ages, when knights brought the alembic copper pot stills into northern Transylvania. In the vein of this tradition, we’ve improved the artisanal process, creating our own special recipes by double distilling and maturing in recharred casks; 100% natural product, fully handcrafted in a small family farm, where people and HORINCA live by century-old rules

Now, Stefan Gogota the son, heritor, brand maker and founder (who has lot of experience in hospitality management, branding, communication, PR, marketing Wine industry, HoReCa development),continue the story and follow his own dream in order to reinventing the true Horinca to give its the true purpose of delighting the friends! along with the family support of his nephew (brother and cofounder) Ioan Andrei Botis (who has lot of experience in real estate management, green buildings, valuation & development),who promote the local culture and tradition from Valea Stejarului, Maramures also witht the Maria si Petre Botis, well known singers of Maramures folklore and tradition heritors, where people and HORINCA live by century-old rules !
